One particular KHD RO project concerns the handling of import containers from the Far East for an international company in the automotive industry. Containers are received at the port in Constantia, presented to customs and then transported to the warehouse. There, the goods are checked for damage, packed on pallets, wrapped in foil and then stowed in the high-bay warehouse, ready to be transported within Europe.
For another warehouse customer in the furniture industry, we check the packaging of stored furniture again before loading and replace it where necessary. Transport from the KHD warehouse is carried out with our own environmentally-friendly vehicles, covering destinations across Europe.
The KDH warehouse is also used to stow containers for customers from Germany and Europe delivering to the Far East or the USA. Merchandise produced in Germany and the rest of Europe is delivered by the KHD European truck fleet to a central terminal in Bucharest where it is inspected and temporarily stored. Once they are checked out, the goods follow a stowage plan and are then loaded into pre-ordered containers. When the goods are approved by customs and once the container has been sealed, they are delivered to the port of Constantia.
Special care is required with transports for the chemical industry. Here we take account of all possible sources of danger and obtain special permits in advance from the local authorities and the police. Specially trained KHD staff escort the transport from the port of Constantia to the warehouse in Bucharest.
Onward transport to Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain and other countries is undertaken in coordination with the institutions concerned.
